Paediatric Gastroenterologist

Dr Robert N Lopez supports babies, children and teenagers with the diagnosis and ongoing management of conditions relating to the digestive tract, liver, nutrition, growth and feeding.

This includes the treatment of acid reflux, indigestion, nausea and vomiting, peptic ulcer disease, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, coeliac disease and more. He aims to help his patients effectively manage their conditions and, with their families, live full and rewarding lives.

Dr Lopez attained Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 2008, Diploma in Child Health (DCH) in 2010 and Master of Medical Science with Distinction in 2016, all from the University of Otago. After training in Christchurch, Sydney and Brisbane he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2018. Dr Lopez is a qualified paediatric endoscopist. He is also well-published in the areas of paediatrics and gastroenterology and enjoys ongoing research endeavours.

Dr Lopez is a consultant in paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology at Starship Children’s Hospital. He is pleased to be a part of the KidzHealth team and offer a private service.
